Yoshara Naturals : Almond Honey Face Wash-Scrub

The skin needs to be cleaned  periodically of impurities. As skin functions normally, sweat glands and sebaceous glands rid our bodies of waste and toxins. They also trap external pollutants on the skins surface in a barrier of sebum and sweat. It is our job to clean the slate regularly. Exfoliants are materials with irregular textures used to release debris which collects on the skins surface. They add some texture to the soap’s lather, increasing the soaps cleansing quality: the grainier lather removes dirt and dead skin cells while stimulating the healthier cells below. Moisturizing ingredients within the formula avoid irritation and dryness.

KEY INGREDIENTS & THEIR BENEFITS
  • Saponified Almond Oil: Almond oil is known mostly for its moisturizing effects and enhances the appearance of the complexion and makes the skin smooth and supple. It is perfect massage oil because of its lubricating properties and non comedogenic properties (1). Rich in vitamins A, B1, B2 and E, almond oil relieves itching, alleviates dryness and balances the moisture levels. Use of almond oil can prevent are premature aging and inflammation of the skin, refines the structure of the skin, stimulates cell renewal and helps fight against the unwanted effects of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin (1). Rich source of vitamin E and of some essential minerals like magnesium and calcium, almond oil delays the aging process (1). When used in soaps, it is easily saponified and produces a very mild soap with a nice lather and has a softening effect on the skin (2).
  • Saponified Coconut Oil: The fatty acids along with the numerous minerals and nutrients in coconut will provide the skin with great benefits. The oil can also work to help remove dirt and dead cells from the skin. The aforementioned acids in coconut oil (lactic, capric, etc) can also have benefits when it comes to acne treatment: the antimicrobial properties of these fats can act to prevent or help reduce current acne breakouts (3).  The antioxidants prevent and help to reduce skin aging. Applied topically helps to form a chemical barrier on the skin to ward of infection, reduces symptoms associated the psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis while supporting the natural chemical balance of the skin , softens the skin helping relieve dryness and flaking, prevents wrinkles, sagging skin, and age spots promoting healthy looking complexion (3).
  • Honey: Gently removes dirt and impurities without stripping the skin of natural oils. The natural antibacterial and probiotic properties of raw honey effectively reduce breakouts and prevent new acne (4). Due to its gentle and nurturing property, it is ideal for very sensitive skin, rosacea, and eczema. It works well on all skin types while balancing oily skin and moisturizes dry skin (4). Full of antioxidants, slows slowing down aging. Extremely moisturizing and soothing, honey is clarifying because it opens up pores making them easy to unclog (5).
  • Vitamin E Oil: Topical application of vitamin E oil promotes production of two important protein components namely, collagen and elastin that improves skin elasticity (6). This in turn reduces the appearances of the visible age spots, fine lines or wrinkles, and gives a younger-looking skin. Its antioxidant properties further fight off damaging effects of free radicals, and minimizes the chances of appearances of new wrinkles (6). For this reason, Vitamin E is used as a key ingredient in several anti-aging creams and lotions. Vitamin E also prevents water loss from the skin, and helps retain its natural moisture making dull, dry skin look healthy and well-moisturized (6). If it is used for the purpose of deep pore cleansing of dry skin on a regular basis, it restores the normal oil balance of the skin.
  • Shea Butter: Shea butter is high in vitamins A, E and F, provides collagen (to assist prevention of skin aging & wrinkles), and contains essential fatty acids (7). Shea butter is an intense moisturizer for dry skin, and is a wonderful product for revitalizing damaged skin (7).
  • Almond Powder: Almond flour is a wonderful way to nourish the skin while providing gentle exfoliation and promote the natural turnover of skin cells. Almonds can cleanse the skin by eliminating toxins and free radicals from your body. The various antioxidants in almonds possess anti-ageing properties which help in reducing fine lines and wrinkles. The Vitamin E component is considered a skin food as it nourishes the skin, keeping it smooth and glowing, can help to remove fine lines and wrinkles. It can also lighten age spots and other blemishes on the skin. (8,9).
  • Essential Oil of Ylang Ylang: Can be used on its own or may be often be combined with coconut oil for greater skin moisturizing. This ingredient is believed to be full of phenols, which are often used in chemical peels due to their skin lightening properties (10). The Ylang Ylang essential oils for skin care may also be helpful in filling in wrinkles, and fighting acne by balancing oily skin (10).

The almond honey facial cleanser from the house of Yoshara Naturals, comes in a revamped 50 gm plastic container with a screw on top. Bownish in color, the cleanser is in a paste like consistency, smooth with a slightly gritty texture and smells of honey and ylang ylang.

To use, take the required amount from the container with a spoon and apply to moistened skin and massage gently but firmly. I prefer to leave it on for 10-15 minutes as a deep cleansing mask and rinse off in the shower for quick skin smoothing and cleansing.

I mostly use this honey almond scrub on my face, but you can use it for your entire body. It works as a gentle exfoliant, leaving your skin feeling smooth and fresh. I use this about once a week, and I find that my make-up glides right on afterwards.

This cleanser-exfoliant can be used daily, due to its gentle nature leaving the skin feeling smooth and fresh. Made with finely ground almonds which acts as a natural buffing agent, it gently remove dead skin cells, while added honey ensures that the skin is left soft and hydrated.

This mixture not only makes the skin feel soft, it is also full of minerals and nutrients! Honey is considered a super-food for the skin. It has an ability to absorb and retain moisture, which helps the skin feel hydrated and fresh. Since I have dry/dehydrated skin, I do prefer to moisturize with the gulaab glow cream after toning

Overall, a non-abrasive face cleanser-scrub that gently cleanses, exfoliates and refines flaky skin and dulling build-up without drying the skin.
