Flax Max : Flax Seed Masala Mix

“Wherever flaxseed becomes a regular food item among the people, there will be better health.” -  Mahatma Gandhi.

Finding creative ways to incorporate flaxseed to meals can be a challenge. They have a crisp, chewy texture with a nutty flavour.  One popular technique is incorporating ground flaxseed to food preparations. Ground flax seeds are the most nutritious as grinding them makes easier to digest and helps release their nutrients (1).  Rakhee Jain Arora of Flax Max has added a desi twist by incorporating masala's to ground flax seed taking delicious to a whole different level.

  • The omega 3  fats in flax seeds benefit  the skin and hair by providing essential fats as well as b-vitamins which can help reduce dryness and flakiness. It can also improve symptoms of acne, rosacea, and eczema. This also applies to eye health as flax can reduce dry eye syndrome. They also provide hydration when applied topically by locking in moisture and preventing water loss.

The flaxseed masala, which I purchased at The Lil Flea,  comes in a 150 gms resealable plastic pouch. Powdery in texture, this versatile product can be incorporated in a multitude of recipes. I add about a tablespoon of the mix into my toddler's omelet as seasoning and she absolutely loves it. The perfect blend of spices, it is a great addition for vegetarians and even the pickiest of eaters.
