Facial oils are pure nourishing plant based oils for hyper-hydration, anti-aging, and healing. I have always wondered what is the difference between a serum and facial oil. Well, a serum, while it may come in cream, oil or “serum” form, are concentrates packed with antioxidants and vitamins that we put on BEFORE moisturizing. Serums tend to be lighter, made for a specific purpose (i.e. anti-aging, brightening, smoothing etc.), can be worn under makeup easily, and can also be used in place of a moisturizer in some cases. That being said, they don’t deliver the moisturizing punch that a facial oil does, but they do transport vital nutrients direct to your skin.

The cell construction serum comes in a 8 mL amber glass bottle to prevent the oils from going rancid with a screw on dropper top. The serum is fluid in consistency, reddish yellow in color and has delicate wafting notes of geranium and prominent top notes of frankienscence that does not linger for long but could be a bit much for those sensitive to strong fragrances.
To use, I cleanse and tone my face before applying 3-4 drops (depending on how parched my skin
feels) and massage it in a upward motion (no theory here). The oil is
non-greasy and non staining and gets absorbed within seconds of
application. I use the serum as part of my bed time routine when cell
regeneration is at its prime.
There was a time
when I shuddered to put oil on my face. The thinking was putting oil on my skin
would cause breakouts and turn me into one big walking blackhead. It was act of
dry skin desperation that I finally relented and gave oil a chance and am never
looking back.
The serum, is
truly a remarkable, wonderful all-natural moisturizer that keeps skin clear and
healthy. Its a perfect blend of concentrated botanicals that regenerates and
intensively conditions lacklustre skin. The serum is high in skin-supporting
essential fatty acids to help restore the skin's protective acid mantle. I have
noticed my skin to be hydrated and plumped and am already on my second bottle.
